Submit a 500 words essay on the topic Masters program at George Washington University.I have always volunteered in my community, and since I have set the goal of being accepted to GWU, I have been volunteering in ways that will help me to develop skills necessary to succeed in a PA program. I work with at-risk youth in the Washington DC area and want to use my PA skills to serve this community. In addition to this community service, I have just completed a 200-hour volunteer program at USC+LAC specially designed for aspiring PAs. As a part of these volunteer hours, I worked in the largest trauma center in the country assisting and getting to know the PAs there as professionals and individuals. Their efforts on behalf of their patients have further inspired me to want to be a PA.My choice of current profession is also preparing me for PA school. I currently work as a medical assistant in a West End neighborhood of Washington DC. As a part of my daily work, I assist in the medical care for a population with a high rate of HIV. I have learned so much by working with these patients. In addition to the typical workload of a medical assistant, I also act as the head counselor in the medical weight loss clinic. I work alongside the physicians to coordinate the clients medical histories with their weight loss goals.or the past several years, my goal has been to be accepted to GWU to become a PA. Upon completion of my program at GWU, I plan to stay in the DC area and work in a clinic or family practice serving a low-income community. This is where my heart is and this is where my passion for serving others was born.
